Course Overview:To teach the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries.
Prerequisites: Participants must be 15 years old, tread water for two minutes, able to swim 300 yards continuously using a variety of strokes and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from a depth of at least 7 ft.
